Crawford Captures WBO Welterweight Belt
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Terence Crawford became a four-division champion with a tight unanimous decision victory over Israil Madrimov on Saturday night at the BMO Stadium.
Crawford (41-0, 29 KOs) added the WBO welterweight title to his collection with the victory, which came by scores of 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112.
Madrimov (10-1-1, 6 KOs) gave Crawford a tough fight, but the veteran champion was able to do just enough to earn the win.
Crawford, who began his pro career in 2009 at super lightweight, could face more danger at welterweight, but he showed on Saturday night that he is still a force to be reckoned with.
